Much Ado Aboot Nothing

Well, Toronto has lived up to its poor reputation and messed things up pretty royally. My flight from L.A. landed in Toronto on schedule, A-OK. The customs people told me that my next flight to Brussels was going to make a “pit-stop” in Montreal first, so I had to pick up my checked-in luggage and check it in again. The only problem with this was that they had no idea where they put my luggage. I was joined by a very angry French man and a sobbing American girl soon after with the same predicament—long story short, we all missed the Brussels flight. So here I am, stuck in Toronto, home of nothing. They’re putting me up in a hotel with room service for the night, and I’ll be boarding the same flight tomorrow at 5 pm (it’s 6:15 pm in Toronto right now), then stopping in Kenya only to fly 30 more minutes into Kigali.

Despite how upset I was about this at first, I’ve warmed up to the idea of a shower, a bed to sleep in and a relatively decent few meals. Maybe I’ll walk around a little and try to pass off as a Canadian.

So, officially ammending my first post: 48 hours, 4 stops, I’m still going to Africa, still going to Africa, still going to Africa.

P.S. Araik Petrosyan’s mass text about the latest event he’s promoting just managed to find a way into my cellphone’s inbox. Thank you, Roger’s Wireless.
